Our Leadership

Daniel Hurwitz, Co-Founder & CEO

Daniel B. Hurwitz is Co-Founder and CEO of Raider Hill Advisors. Raider Hill is an industry leading, fully integrated, investment and advisory firm within the real estate sector. Dan has spent the vast majority of his extensive career successfully transforming public and private businesses, formulating and executing prudent investment and operational strategies while engendering trust among highly sophisticated institutional partners through maximizing value for all stakeholders. Since founding Raider Hill in 2015, the firm has been involved in over $60 billion in real estate transactions.

Prior to founding Raider Hill, Dan was CEO of DDR Corp (NYSE: DDR) currently known as Site Centers (NYSE: SITC). In 2013 Dan was named Best CEO in the REIT sector by Institutional Investor Magazine. During his career, Dan has served on the Board of Directors of five publicly listed companies, four private companies, and one publicly traded real estate firm listed on the BOVESPA in Brazil.

Dan has also served as Chairman of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT). Dan has been actively engaged in various government relations matters pertaining to the public and private real estate industry. In 2009 Dan was invited and testified on behalf of the industry as a subject matter expert before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law regarding proposed revisions to the Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Code.

Dan is a graduate of Colgate University and the Executive Management Program at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He served as Chairman of the Colgate Board of Trustees and is currently Chairman Emeritus. Dan has been a frequent speaker at numerous academic institutions and has repeatedly been a guest discussing real estate trends on CNBC, Fox Business, Bloomberg and various industry conferences.

Joseph Tichar, Co-Founder, President & COO

Joseph M. Tichar is Co-Founder, President & COO of Raider Hill and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all company activities. An 18-year veteran of the real estate business, Joe is widely recognized for his experience in operations, investments, and asset management. Joe is a Trustee of ICSC, serves on the Board of Directors of the ICSC Foundation, and is a member of the ICSC Open Air Conference Advisory Committee. In 2019, he was named one of ICSC’s 4 under 40 honorees recognizing the next generation of leaders in the retail real estate industry.

Prior to Raider Hill, Joe was Senior Vice President of Operations and Chief of Staff at DDR Corp. (currently known as Site Centers, NYSE:SITC) and served on the company’s investment, management, compensation, and enterprise risk management committees. During his tenure at DDR Corp. from 2008 to 2015, Joe held various leadership positions and was actively involved in strategic planning, capital transactions, portfolio management, investor relations, capital markets, corporate communications, marketing, and human resources. In 2016, he was a member of the interim senior management team at Brixmor Property Group (NYSE: BRX).

Joe received a BS in Business Management and Finance from Case Western Reserve University and has frequently been a panelist and guest speaker at various industry conferences and events.

Bryan Zabell, Senior Managing Director

Bryan P. Zabell is Senior Managing Director at Raider Hill, with over 20 years of real estate experience. Bryan's primary responsibilities include overseeing the leasing strategy across the company’s various portfolios. He is also actively involved in all aspects of the firm’s advisory services with a particular focus on leasing operations, organizational design and the implementation of industry-recognized best practices.

Prior to joining Raider Hill, Bryan was with DDR Corp. (NYSE: DDR) for 17 years in various management positions primarily within the leasing department. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President of Leasing responsible for overseeing all leasing functions for a 100 property portfolio of shopping centers, representing over $300million in revenue located in the US and Puerto Rico.

Bryan received a BS in Business Administration from the Max M. Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. He is an active member of ICSC, member of the Planning & Zoning Commission for the City of Beachwood, Ohio, and is based in the company’s Cleveland office.

John Dunion, Managing Director

John Dunion is a Managing Director at Raider Hill and has been with the firm since 2016. John is involved in all aspects of the firm’s advisory services, with a particular focus on entity and asset transactions, capital allocation decisions, and balance sheet optimization. Additionally, Mr. Dunion oversees the firm’s investment management and valuation functions, coverage of public and private real estate capital markets activity, and market research.

Prior to joining Raider Hill Advisors, John was an associate on a debt, equity and structured finance team at Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation where he secured financing for a variety of asset types.

John received a BA in Political Science from Yale University, is a member of ICSC, and previously served on the ICSC Next Generation Leadership Network.

Ali Klaben, Vice President of Asset Management

Ali Klaben is Vice President of Asset Management at Raider Hill, with over 10 years of real estate experience. Ali is involved in many aspects of the firm’s advisory services with a specific focus on asset management, financial reporting, budgeting, accounting, compliance and tax optimization. She is also responsible for overseeing day-to-day property operations and managing third-party service providers.

Prior to joining Raider Hill, she was a Financial Analyst at Pyramid Management Group, a privately held shopping center developer, where she worked on the financial analysis, planning, budgeting and reporting of multiple shopping centers in the Northeast.

Ali received a BS in Business Administration from Marist College and is a member of ICSC.
